Sales Development Specialist

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Pan-American Life Insurance Company is looking for a Sales Development Specialist to join our Sales and Marketing team. Our Sales Development Specialist collaborates with Regional Sales Directors and their geographical sales territories and is responsible for proactively communicating the value of our products and services.

OVERVIEW

The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for assisting with cultivating and managing new and existing relationships with the field force to increase sales of Mutual Trust products. The position is responsible for proactively communicating the value of Mutual Trust (i.e. products, service), preparing sales illustrations to meet agent requests and client needs, assisting agents in understanding our sales illustrations and website functionality and proactively following up on cases on pending business and potential sales opportunities.

THE DAY TO DAY:

  • Work independently and with team members with minimal guidance to build and strengthen relationships with our customers while providing sales-oriented services through inbound and outbound communications on a daily basis.
  • Respond to routine external and internal inquiries related to illustration software, agent website, Mutual Trust products and the various selling systems supported by the company.
  • Prepare routine sales illustrations in support of agent sales activities and new business/policy issue requirements; consult on specific non-complex cases providing guidance on product selection and marketing techniques for routine sales scenarios.
  • Proactively contact the field to help them convert pending applications and to inform them of our products, performance and services within proper marketing conduct parameters. Follow up with the field on the sales illustrations generated by our team and applications submitted to increase submitted and placed business.
  • Understand the various selling systems supported by Mutual Trust and demonstrate the ability to prepare routine illustration in support of these systems.
  • Maintain individual and team sales activity database to track department activity and assist in identifying sales trends and potential opportunities.
  • Create and maintain strong professional relationship with the field and with internal constituencies.
  • Provide input regarding the development of web-based training and marketing materials regarding the company’s sales opportunities, products and services.
  • Develop, administer and conduct remote training for field force individuals and groups regarding Mutual Trust’s products, services, website, illustrations and other sales tools. Conduct life training sessions on occasion.
  • Proactively contact the field to help them convert pending applications and to inform them of our products, performance and services, within proper market conduct parameters.
  • Follow up with the field on sales illustrations generated by us and applications submitted to us to increase their submitted and paid business with Mutual Trust.
  • Provide technical support for the sales illustration and other agent sales tools through testing, reporting of software bugs and recommending software enhancements.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Required: College degree or 5 years of equivalent experience required. Three years of industry experience with ability to demonstrate understanding of insurance products with emphasis on Whole Life and Universal Life.
  • Preferred: Industry designations such as life/health license or CLU. Additional advanced studies in the field as evidence by LOMA or similar studies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of insurance products, including Whole Life, Universal Life (and variations).
  • Ability to effectively create and communicate sales concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively or independently
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Solid time management and follow-up skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and efficiently utilize software packages
